The chapter opens with Wavygyaza, the idol turned Neo Hero, talking with Child Emperor, who goes by Wild Emperor inside the organization. After an update from the Neo Heroes tracking team, she reveals that the organization is using satellites with thermal scans and facial recognition to hunt down Sweet Mask (Amai Mask).
Wavygyaza wants to catch him herself for the publicity, but admits that his shapeshifting lets him slip past their radar. Disappointed, she heads off to film a commercial.
Once she leaves, Child Emperor reconnects with Sekingar and Metal Bat. Sekingar argues that an idol and a real hero are two very different things, and that the Neo Heroes exploited Wavygyaza’s passion to push her into cybernetic surgeries. Convinced the organization’s leadership is rotten, he decides to sabotage them from the inside.
The final scene belongs to Speed-o’-Sound Sonic. In his hideout, Sonic is going over a list of more than 20 targets when “A”, a killer hired by the Neo Heroes, corners him. A declares that Sonic is an S-Class bounty and that he is surrounded. Sonic recognizes him as an assassin known for killing far beyond his assigned targets, and mocks the Neo Heroes for recruiting underworld scum and calling them heroes.

- Sonic vs. A. Chapter 288 will most likely open with the fight. Sonic has already wiped out Neo Heroes wearing battle suits, so A may learn that his target is far more dangerous than he expected. The big question is whether A is hiding an ability that can actually push Sonic to the limit.
- Who is on Sonic’s list? Those 20-plus targets are there for a reason. They could be the bounty hunters chasing him, or key figures inside the Neo Heroes. If so, Sonic could become a serious threat to the organization.
- Sekingar’s sabotage. With Child Emperor and Metal Bat on his side, Sekingar’s plan could start moving. It would be the first real strike against the Neo Heroes from within.
