Privacy Policy
Last updated: November 5, 2026
At JoseGeek (en.josegeek.com) we respect your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you visit the site, what it's used for, who it's shared with and what rights you have.
Who is responsible
The site and your data are managed by JoseGeek (Peru). You can contact us through our contact page with any privacy question.
What information we collect
You don't need to sign up or give us any information to read the site. We only collect:
- Technical visit data. Like any website, the server logs technical data for each visit (IP address, browser, page visited, date and time). It's used only to run the site and protect it from attacks, and it's deleted periodically.
- Contact form. If you write to us, we store your name, email, message, the page you wrote from, the date and your IP address, so we can reply and prevent abuse.
- Comments. If you comment, we store your name, your email (never published), the comment, your IP address and your browser, to display the comment and detect spam. If your email has a Gravatar account (gravatar.com), that account's picture is shown next to your comment; to check this, an encrypted version of your email is sent to Gravatar. If you don't have an account, a generic image is shown.
- Preferences in your browser. The site saves a few preferences in your own browser, such as light or dark mode or that you closed a notice. This information isn't sent to anyone. More details in our Cookie Policy.
How we use it
- Replying to your messages.
- Publishing and moderating comments.
- Keeping the site secure and running.
- Remembering your display preferences.
We process your data because you give it to us when you write or comment (your consent) or because it's needed for the site to work and stay secure. We don't sell your data and we won't send you advertising by email.
Third-party services
- Hosting and security: the site runs on a hosting provider and uses Cloudflare for security and speed. Both process technical data about your visit (such as your IP) to deliver pages and block attacks.
- YouTube: videos are shown with YouTube in privacy-enhanced mode: the player only loads when you press play, and from then on Google may collect data under its own privacy policy.
- Social media: the share buttons and links to our social media are regular links: nothing from those networks loads until you click.
- Fortnite Item Shop: shop data and images come from Fortnite-API.com and are stored on our server; when you open an item's window, its large image loads directly from Fortnite-API.com. When you click "Buy in Fortnite" you go to the Epic Games site, where its privacy policy applies. We can't see your purchases or your Epic account.
- Patreon and PayPal: contributions are paid on their own sites. We never see or store your card details; we only receive what those platforms share with the recipient (for example, your name or username, your email and the amount).
Data outside your country
Some of these services (such as Google, Cloudflare, Disqus, Patreon, PayPal or Epic Games) are located outside Peru, mainly in the United States. When you use them, your data may be processed in those countries under the safeguards those companies provide.
How long we keep it
- Contact messages: as long as needed to reply and follow up; then they're deleted.
- Comments: while they're published, or until you ask for them to be deleted.
- Technical and security logs: as long as the server keeps them, usually a few weeks.
- Browser preferences: until you delete them or they expire.
Your rights
You can ask at any time to access, correct or delete your data, or object to its use, and you can withdraw your consent. Contact us through our contact page telling us what you need and we'll reply as soon as possible.
We follow Peru's Personal Data Protection Law (Law No. 29733) and its regulations. If you believe we haven't handled your request properly, you can file a complaint with Peru's National Authority for Personal Data Protection. If you live in the European Union, you also have the rights granted by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), such as data portability, and you can complain to the authority in your country.
Children
The site isn't aimed at children under 14 and we don't knowingly collect their data. If you're a parent or guardian and believe a child has given us their information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Security
We use a secure connection (HTTPS), attack protection and restricted access to the admin dashboard. No system is completely foolproof, but we do everything reasonable to protect your data.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the site or the law changes. The date of the last update is shown at the top of this page.
