The fight everyone has been waiting for is finally here. Dragon Ball Super: Beerus, Toei Animation’s 2026 remake of Dragon Ball Super’s first arc, has reached its biggest moment: Goku has transformed into a Super Saiyan God, and episode 5 should kick off his battle against Beerus, the God of Destruction. Here is the Dragon Ball Super: Beerus episode 5 release date, the release time in your region, which manga chapters it adapts, and a recap of the previous episode.

When Does Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 5 Come Out?
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus episode 5 premieres on Sunday, November 8, 2026, at 11:15 PM Japan time on Fuji TV. The episode is titled “The God of Destruction and Son Goku” (Hakaishin to Son Gokū).
Here is when the Japanese broadcast airs in other regions (all on Sunday, November 8):
| Region | Time |

Where to Watch Dragon Ball Super: Beerus
The official way to watch the series is on Crunchyroll, with English subtitles the same day. In the US, episodes also stream on Hulu, and they reach Netflix a few days later. Toei has not announced a release date for the English dub yet.
Which Manga Chapters Does Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Adapt?
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus is an “enhanced edition” of the God of Destruction Beerus arc, which covers chapters 1 to 4 of Toyotarou’s manga:
- Chapter 1: The God of Destruction’s Prophetic Dream
- Chapter 2: Goku Defeated
- Chapter 3: Beerus’ Wrath
- Chapter 4: Battle of Gods
Episode 4 wrapped up the events of chapter 3, so episode 5 should mainly adapt chapter 4, “Battle of Gods”, where Super Saiyan God Goku fights Beerus. This arc is expected to span the remake’s first six episodes. The story also draws from the movie Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods (2013) and the early episodes of the 2015 anime, but with new scenes, redone animation and revised pacing.
Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 4 Recap
Spoiler warning: this section covers the events of episode 4.
Episode 4, “The God of Saiyans,” picks up with the arc’s most ridiculous scene: Oolong and Beerus playing rock-paper-scissors for the fate of the Earth. Oolong loses, and an annoyed Beerus gets ready to destroy the planet.
That is when Goku, back from King Kai’s planet, shows up and stops him. His arrival is one of the scenes the remake expanded the most compared to the original anime. To learn what a Super Saiyan God is, the heroes summon Shenron, who acts far more cautious around Beerus than in the 2015 version. The dragon reveals that the ritual requires six pure-hearted Saiyans.
They only have five, until Videl reveals she is pregnant: the baby counts as the sixth Saiyan. The ritual is completed, and the episode ends with the reveal of Super Saiyan God Goku, stopping just before the fight begins.
What Will Happen in Dragon Ball Super: Beerus Episode 5? Predictions
These predictions are based on the manga and the movie; the remake could change some details.
- Goku vs. Beerus begins. The episode title and preview suggest we will finally see the Super Saiyan God take on the God of Destruction.
- Goku adapts to godly power. In the manga, Goku has to learn to control his new energy mid-fight. The episode will likely show that process in more detail.
- The fight leaves Earth. In the original story, their clash is strong enough to threaten the planet. It would not be surprising for the battle to move into the sky or even into space.
- More new scenes. Toei promised new cuts and revised scenes. This fight is the remake’s big chance to outdo the 2013 movie.
- A finale in episode 6. If the arc ends in episode 6, episode 5 could stop at the height of the battle and save the conclusion for the following week.
